Jacob Presson
Acting Coaching / Writer / Actor

About Me!
I am an acting coach and multidisciplinary creative based in NYC. I am a member of the National Alliance of Acting Teachers, an Associate Artist for Less Than Rent Theatre, an audition coach for stageready, a teaching artist for Hudson Valley Shakespeare, and a volunteer at the 52nd Street Project. I hold an MFA in Acting from The New School and certificates in acting from the British American Drama Academy (BADA) and The Powerhouse Theater Training Program. Post-graduate professional development includes the National Alliance of Acting Teachers’ Teacher Development Program and Lincoln Center Activates. Also a hopelessly devoted dog dad!

Coaching / Teaching
My approach amplifies inquiry-based learning and the application of theatre games across educational and non-professional settings alike.
Additionally, I am an audition coach for beginning and established actors in film, television, and theater, and specialize in College Audition preparation and consulting.

Writing
My first play, Very Bad Words, was presented at Fringe NYC and, subsequently, with The Semicolon Theatre Company, under the direction of Miranda Cornell. Other plays have been developed and workshopped with Wide Eyed Productions, BZ Genesis Works at Playwrights Horizons, and The Pantry.
My Pilot "Floaties!", a mockumentary sitcom about the devoted staff of a fiscally sinking Community Swimming Pool, was a Semi-finalist for the 2025 WeScreenplay TVPilot Lab. I currently study writing for both stage and screen with The Writer's Crucible.
My first short film, "Mayday! Mayday!" is currently in post production, and I can't wait for you to see it.

Acting
As an actor, I’ve performed regionally and in NYC at 59E59, New Ohio Theatre, Under St. Marks, the cell, Shakespeare on the Sound, and New York Stage and Film, as well as with Breaking and Entering Theatre Collective, Horse Trade Theatre Group, Bridge Productions Group, Theatre under the Moonlight, and others.
